POLY
FLEX & THERMOBOAT SUPPLIES CUSTOM WHITE ENGINE MOUNTS The engine room in the new Hatteras 60 Convertible features a
smooth, white paint finish that brightness up the space and allows easy spotting
of any leaks. But its powerful
1550-1800 hp twin CAT engine packages can cause ordinary painted engine mounts
to chip and fade. To solve this
problem, Poly Flex and their North American agent, Thermoboat, had white engine
mount custom made for the 60C. The new high-tech Hatteras 60C features a classy, wrap-around
windshield, mezzanine cockpit and lightweight construction.
Combining beauty and power, the modern sportfishing convertible’s
engine options include three powerful twin CAT diesel packages.
“With
the new 60C, we want to give people the best possible engine packages
available,” said Hatteras Marketing Manager David Ritchie.
“Every component that went into the 60C was thoroughly examined
first.” Producing
1800hp apiece, the CAT-32 ACERT diesel engines push the boat to a top end speed
of 42 knots. Tested with a full
load in real-world sea conditions, the 60C reached 36 knots at cruise. Gregory Poole Marine Power, a CAT distributor, worked
closely with Poly Flex and Thermoboat on the Hatteras project. The
first of their kind, white Poly Flex Engine Mounts, P#12.5F are specially
designed, built and DNV certified for marine applications.
Providing superior vibration isolation, the thermoplastic mounts are
manufactured from an engineering-grade, heat-cured polymer.
The are resistant to most oils, fuels and chemicals.
“Poly Flex engine mounts are part of our complete engine package,”
said Gregory Poole Marine Power’s Hatteras Account Manager, James McDonald.
“We were looking for a lighter mount that would provide the same
reliability and function as our current supplier.
The Poly Flex mounts have exceeded our and our customers’ expectations
for vibration isolators when it comes to durability, adjustability, appearance
and price.” Now
standard in the Poly Flex line, the white mounts offer excellent vibration
control, reduce unwanted noise and even protect the structural integrity of the
boat. They also offer high
resistance to movement caused by dynamic loads, such as propeller thrust. “Poly
Flex and Thermoboat have been a wonderful business partner,” said McDonald.
“They’ve delivered everything they promised and more.” CONTACT:
